Is our anni in maumoon's shoes?

Yesterday I read in the media that 14 State Ministers have been appointed and even there are 3 such guys for one ministry. As I'm already aware that this figure is far lower compared to state ministers under the former president Maumoon, I still wish to ask the readers if we really need all these State Ministers and what for. Have they been chosen based on their proven performance or another political appointments?

It is a well known fact that almost all the appointment of state ministers under Maumoon's administration was more like giving a fat salary to his cronies. Is this what anni is upto? Is he rewarding out of the public coffer to those who have been loyal to MDP/himself and worked hard during his campaign. Is our anni wearing maumoon's shoes? I hope not. Yet, it is difficult for me to shake off these thoughts when I see some faces and keep wondering if they could ever deliver given their past experiences.

I must also admit that some of the appointees are very capable, proven administrators and would make good deputy ministers. Then why big titles like 'State Ministers' when we want our ministers to lead a simple Maldivian life and understand us better? Most importantly, when we want them to realize they are actually servants of the people. Anni, may I remind you that the national treasury belongs to over 300,000 people and you must NOT use it to please your cronies like the former ruler did. It is an 'amanah' given to you by the people and should NOT use it except in a way it would benefit that over 300,000 people.
