President Nasheed promises no harm shall touch his critics!

The President Nasheed promised no harm shall touch any person for being critical of his administration or policies. He further said he is more eager to listen to those criticisms/opinions and change his policies accordingly. (1) He spoke of it during a speech at a workshop held in the central province on provincial administration. He specifically emphasized the protection for job advancement, which was the same promise the former government of Mr Maumoon Abdul Gayoom had failed to honour.

We hail Mr Nasheed for the timely announcement and that he still remembers his days as a dissident writer who had born so much pains for exercising his freedom to expression enshrined in the constitution. At the same time, we take this opportunity to appeal Mr Nasheed to free the state media, TV Maldives and Radio Maldives, from the shackles of mdp activism by re-appointing the Maldives Media Corporation to include people from different political spheres.

1) President Mohamed Nasheed says not even an iota of harm shall touch a person for being critical or dissatisfied with his administration.
