ރައީސް ނަޝީދުގެ ކިބައި އަހަރެމެން އެދެނީ ނަމޫނާ ރައީސަކަށް ވުމަށް
1. ވޭތުވެދިޔަ 30 އަހަރު ތެރޭގައި ބޭއްވުނު އިންތިހާބުތަކަށް ކުރީގެ ރައީސް މައުމޫނު ނުފޫޒު ފޯރުވިކަމަށް އެއްމެ އަޑަށް ބާރުލައި ވާހަކަދެއްކި މީހަކަށް ރައީސް ނަޝީދު ވާތީވެ، އެފަދަ ކަންތައްތަކާ ދުރުގައި ހުންނެވުމަކީ އަދި އެފަދަ ކަމަކާގުޅޭ ވާހަކައެއް މަނިކުފާނާ މެދު ދައްކާނެ ފުރުސަތެއް ނުދިނުމަކީ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ އެދުމެކެވެ. ސަބަބަކީ މަނިކުފާނު ތިޔަ މަގާމަށް ރައްޔިތުން އިންތިހާބުކުރީ އެފަދަ ކަންތަކާމެދު ރައްޔިތުން ނުރުހޭތީވެއެވެ.
2. ދައުލަތުގެ މަގާމުތަކަށް ރައްޓެހިންނާ ޕާޓީގެ މީހުން އައްޔަންކުރުމަކީ ކަމަށް ގާބިލު ކަންކުރެވޭ މީހުންނަށް ފުރަގަސްދިނުންކަން ހަދުމަކުރާށެވެ. ޕާޓީ މީހުންނަށާއި ރައްޓެހިންނަށް މަގާމުދިނުމާ ތިމާގެ މީހުން މަގާމުތަކަށް އައްޔަންކުރުމަކީ ހަމަ އެއްވަރުގެ ދެކަންތަކެވެ. ދައުލަތުގެ މަގާމުތަކަށް ބޭނުންވަނީ ކަމަށް އެކަށޭނަ ގާބިލު ކަންކުރެވޭ މީހުންނެވެ. އެމީހަކު ނިސްބަތްވާ ޕާޓީއެއް، އެމީހެއްގެ ސިޔާސީ ފިކުރެއް، އެމީހަކު ހުންނަ ގޮތެއް އެއީ އެކަމަށް އެޅޭ ހުރަހަކަށް ނަހަދާށެވެ.
3. ކުރީގެ ރައީސް މައުމޫނު ގެންގުޅުއްވާ ސިޔާސަތުތަކަށާއި އަމަލުފުޅު ބަހައްޓަވާ ގޮތްތަކަށް މަލާމާތްކޮށް ޖޯކުޖެހި ކަންތައްތައް ކުރާ މީހެއްކަމުގައި ނުވެވޭތޯ މަނިކުފާނު ބަލާށެވެ. ޖެބޯގެރި ދުއްވުމާއި، ވައުދު ނުފުއްދުމާ، ބުނާ ބަހާ އަމަލާ ދިމާނުވުމާ، ނޭކަށޭނަ މީހުން ބޮޑެތި މަގާމުތަކަށް އައްޔަންކުރުމާ، ރައީސް އޮފީސް ތެރޭގައި ދުންފަތުގެ އިސްތިއުމާލުކުރުމާ، ދައުލަތުގެ ވަސީލަތްތައް ބޭނުންކޮށްގެން ކެމްޕޭނުކުރުން ފަދަ ކަންތައްތަކަކީ އަދިވެސް ރައްޔިތުން ނުރުހޭ ކަންތައްތައްކަން ހަދުމަކުރާށެވެ.
4. މަނިކުފާނަށް ވޯޓުލީ މީހުންގެ ބޭނުމާ މަގުސަދުގެ މަތިން ހަދުމަނެތި ނުކުރާށެވެ. ބޭނުންވަނީ އުފާވެރި ފާގަތި ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއެކެވެ. ބަދަލުވެފައިވާ މައްސަލަތައް މަދު އެކުވެރި ގައުމެވެ. މިކަންތައްތައް ފުރިހަމަކޮށް ނުދެވޭނަމަ އިތުރު ބަހަނާއެއް ނުދައްކާ އަމިއްލައަށް އިސްތިއުފާދީ އެކަން ކުރެވޭނެ އެހެން މީހަކަށް ފުރުސަތުދޭށެވެ. އާޑަކިޔުމާ ފާޑުކިޔުމަކީ ވަރަށް ފަސޭހަކަމެކެވެ. ކަންކަން ހައްލުކުރުމާ، އިސްލާހުކުރުމާ، ބަދަލު ގެނައުމަކީ އެހާ ފަސޭހަކަމެއް ނޫންކަން މިހާރު ހުންނާނީ ފަހުމުވެފައެވެ.
5. ތިމާ ތިޔަ މަގާމަށް ގެނައުމަށް ވިޔަފާރިވެރިން ހަރަދުކުރިޔަސް އެމީހުންގެ އުފަލަށްޓަކައި ރައްޔިތުންގެ ހައްގު ނިގުޅައި ނުގަންނަވާށެވެ. ތިބާ ތިހުރީ ބޮޑު ހުވަޔެއް ކޮށްގެންކަން ހަދާންކުރާށެވެ. އޭގައި ބުނަނީ މަދު ބަޔެއްގެ ހައްގު ރައްކާތެރިކޮށްދިނުމަކަށް ނޫނެވެ. މުޅި ގައުމުގެ ހުރިހާ ރައްޔިތުންގެ ހައްގު މަނިކުފާނުގެ ބޮލުގައި އެޅިފައިވޭމެއެވެ. ކޮންމެ ހުވަޔަކީ އެއާމެދު ސުވާލުވެވޭނެ އެއްޗެއްކަމުގައި ހަދުމަކުރާށެވެ. އިންސާނާ ހެއްދިވިގެންވަނީ ވެލިންނެވެ. އެބުރި ދާހުށީވެސް ވެއްޔަށެވެ. ކޮންމެ އެއްޗަކަށް ނިމުމެއްވާ ފަދައިން ދުނިޔެއަށް ނިމުމެއްވާކަމީ ޔަގީންކަމެކެވެ. ހިސާބު ކިތާބު ބެލެވޭނެކަން އެއީ މުޖައްރިބެކެވެ.

most of us had lots of expectation of him but is he keeping his promises. i doubt he is going to resign after 2 and 1/2 years into his term. what do you say?
keep high hopes but i don't think there would be any change for betterment from what i witness everyday. look, nasheed is now going to island for nothing but campaigning like zaeem. are we not at where we started the reform now?
anni is not the kind of guy who listen to others. he always does what he thinks the best no matter what are the consequences or whether he is breaking a law or going against the constitution. a close friend of nasheed.

Robbing the Poor to Feed the Rich
Its ironic how the poor are paying taxes, for the rich to stay rich and protect their investments, in the name of democracy. When a poor person commits an act of corruption, he is punished to the maximum extent stated in law, but when the rich are robbing the state in broad daylight (as stated in the various Audit Reports by the Auditor General) they are given a chance to explain themselves in a press conference. When the poor are awarded housing, he is forced to pay a large lump sum in down payment in a matter of days, but when the rich are awarded resorts their down payments are levied and extensions are given, as not to disrupt the apparently 'delicate' tourism industry (on which we would like to depend deliriously). When the rich comment on issues, it is substantial but when the poor raise their voices, it is ignored by saying that no government can satisfy all.
Is this what Democracy is? Democracy is a system in which the rich are capable of exploiting the poor, and drive them to desperation and then buy out their voting power, to come to power to extend their riches and to make the poor more desperate and poor in a non-ending chain reaction. It is also a system which allows a few to monopolize the entire economy, and deceive the rest that it is a free and fair market. It is a system in which neither is wrong, nor right and every matter rests in the gray area. It is the system in which hypocrites are everywhere. It is a system which allows us to interpret the constitution in a number of ways which is equal to the total population of country.
Maldives is experiencing true democracy. The extent of freedom in our ideal democracy is shown by our famous Jail, Maafushi. The Jail is a symbolical name, given to a Spa which is overbooked. The extent of human rights achieved is the 4 course meals (better than what we get at our homes), and the leisure jobless days they have to pass. Many of us thought that a Jail was a place where the rights which you enjoy in normal society are lost, and that it was supposed to a place where people should not like to go. It was a place where vocational training should be given where they should be rehabilitated and not just kept. It should be with a lot of restrictions and hard labour, as some benefit should come to society with regard to the amount spend from state funds to keep them there. The whole focus of our nation today (more than anything, the media) is to maintain the publicity for inmates, their rights and all that crap.
Democracy, is it the system where everyone can live in virtual freedom and speech, with the full package of rights, but without any meaning?
